Runoff for Little Elm set for June
With the total ballots released by Denton County, a runoff election will be held for all four positions on the Little Elm Town Council in June. All election results are unofficial until councils canvass, or certify, the results at the next council meetings.
Early voting results released
Early voting results for the Little Elm Town Council General Election were just released by the Denton County Elections. With polls closing at 7 p.m. today, the final results have not been released yet.
Mayoral, council candidates participate in forum last week
The Little Elm Chamber of Commerce and the Little Elm Professional Firefighters Association hosted a candidate forum last week for the Little Elm Town Council and Mayoral races. Out of 15 candidates, 11 candidates participated in the event held at the Little Elm High School.
Over 100 players take part in golf tournament to support LEFDA
Despite strong winds and a high pollen count, over 100 players came out to participate in the Little Elm Fire Department Auxiliary fourth annual Golf Tournament last Friday. At a preliminary count, the organization raised over $5,000 from the event.
Monarch Utilities files motions with SOAH
As of two weeks ago, Monarch Utilities is filing a motion with the State Office of Administrative Hearings to request permission to amend its current rate application. Monarch also filed a motion to withdraw its Sale, Transfer or Merger (STM) application and the City of Pflugerville rate appeal.
Little Elm installs permanent medicine Take-Back drop box
Residents of the Town of Little Elm and surrounding communities will no longer have to wait to dispose of their unused or expired medications. The Town of Little Elm recently installed a permanent medicine Take Back drop box at Little Elm Pharmacy, located in the Lakeshore Crossing Shopping Center at the intersection of Lobo Lane and W. Eldorado Parkway.
Church donates snacks to LEPD as a thank you
CrossRidge Church Senior Pastor Mark Farnell and Church Leaders delivered snacks and treats to the Little Elm Police Department to thank the officers for their continued efforts.
Running for District 5
In the upcoming General Election in Little Elm, six candidates are running for the position of District 5 on the Little Elm Town Council. Candidates include Lloyd "Renn" Leech, Katie Gipson, David Taylor, Daniel Jaworski, DeLeon English and LeAnna Harding.
Little Elm ISD moves to 1:1 digital learning initiative for students
The Little Elm ISD Board of School Trustees recently approved spending assigned fund balance to increase students' access to technology in the district. Next year, Little Elm High School students will be launching the district's first 1:1 technology initiative. More specifically, mid-way through the 2012-2013 school year, each student will be issued individual MacBook Air laptops for educational use.
Running for District 4
In the upcoming General Election in Little Elm, three candidates are running for the position of District 4 on the Little Elm Town Council. The position is for the remainder of the unexpired term. Candidates include Jim Manning, Chip Norman and Robert Burke.
LEPD updates Top 10 Most Wanted List
The Little Elm Police Department recently updated their Top 10 Most Wanted list, and they are asking for the help of residents for information about these suspects.
Running for District 3
In the upcoming General Election in Little Elm, three candidates are running for District 3. Candidates include Curtis Cornelious, Jason Olson and Dickie Mills. Only two candidates responded to The Little Elm Journal's questions; Mills did not wish to participate.
