The Lewisville Chamber of Commerce recently named Southridge Elementary fifth-grade student Rachel Blake Student of Month. Blake was selected for being "an extremely responsible hard worker."
"She is also very caring and helpful in the classroom," teacher Jerry Green said. "Rachel builds a sense of community at school and was a unanimous choice for this award."

She loves animals, reading and making bracelets. Blake is also an active in Girl Scout, student council member and part of Southridge's morning safety patrol.
She was honored during a luncheon at Southridge Oct. 16 where her family, Green and Principal Julie Sheriff were in attendance along with chamber and bank representatives.
