Early voting begins (Update)
By Elizabeth Knighten, eknighten@starlocalnews.com
Early voting opened Monday for the available Frisco City Council and Frisco ISD School Board seats and will run through May 8. Residents can vote from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Saturday. On May 7 and 8, early voting will run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The candidates running for city council include: incumbent Bob Allen and Brent Bilhartz for Place 1; and Dan Bollner and Will Sowell for Place 3. FISD school board candidates include: Chris Todd and Allen Biehl for Place 6, and John Hoxie for Place 7.
Early voting locations are: Collin College Preston Ridge Campus, 9700 Wade Boulevard; Frisco Fire Station No. 4, 4485 Cotton Gin Road; Heritage Lakes Amenities Center, 3949 Village Blvd; the Amenities Center at Frisco Lakes, 7277 Frisco Lakes Drive; and the Denton County Election office, 401 West Hickory Street, STE 125 in Denton.
City Precinct 1 and City Precinct 4 includes voters from Denton County. Residents in Precinct 1 vote at Pioneer Heritage Middle School, 1649 High Shoals; and Precinct 4 residents vote at Tom Hicks Elementary, 3651 Compass Dr.
Precinct 2 and 3 include Collin County residents. Precinct 2 voters can go to Staley Middle School, 6927 Stadium Lane; Precinct 3 voters can visit Wester Middle School, 12293 Shepherds Hill Lane.
According to the FISD website, since Denton County is holding elections for FISD, "citizens who live in Little Elm and Frisco ISD will be able to vote in Little Elm on a joint ballot. McKinney and Plano residents who live in FISD will need to come into Frisco to vote in the FISD election. There is no joint ballot with those entities this year."
For the FISD Election Day locations, Plano residents who are in the FISD school zone boundary, can vote at either Wester or Staley, while McKinney residents within the FISD zone can vote at Wester. Little Elm residents within FISD can vote at the Little Elm Town Hall, located at 100 West Eldorado Parkway in Little Elm.
