The family of Bradley Tubbs, who has been missing since Jan. 1, still have hope that he will be found.

Tubbs, a 50-year-old Plano man, arrived in Vail, Colo. on Dec. 9. He was visiting the town, which is 100 miles west of Denver, in order to decide if he wanted to move there. During his time in Vail, Tubbs was in regular contact with his mother and sister. Neither has heard from him since New Years Day when he called from a Holiday Inn in West Vail around 1 p.m. and said he wasn’t feeling well.

Tubbs was driving a black 2007 Chevy Tahoe with Texas plates 33BFW4 which is also missing. Tubbs is 6-4, 190, has light colored hair, a mustache and glasses. It is not known what clothing he might be wearing.

According to a story on the Vail Daily’s Web site, police searched his room at the Holiday Inn and found that the only item missing was his driver’s license. Everything else -- his skis, ski pass, clothes, wallet, computer and credit cards -- were accounted for.

Jerry Webb, Tubbs’ brother-in-law, and Taylor Webb, Tubbs’ nephew, flew to Vail to canvass the area and post fliers. Alicia Webb, Tubbs’ sister, said her husband and son have returned home after “doing everything they could.”

“Jerry and Taylor put up posters, had personal contact with the police and searched the area,” Alicia Webb said. “Nobody has been able to locate the car as of yet.”

Alicia Webb said this is not like her older brother at all. Tubbs works at the family business, Canyon Creek Day School, and does the bookkeeping and all the behind the scenes work according to Alicia Webb. She said Tubbs loves to ski and loves the mountains. He was hoping to move to Vail and continue his work online.

“He is a wonderful man,” Alicia Webb said. “He would do anything for anybody; if someone asked for help he would help them.”

Tubbs was a quiet man and although he was single, Alicia Webb said he was like a second father to her boys. Tubbs often took Taylor Webb skiing in Colorado, which is why he flew to help search for his uncle. According to Alicia Webb, Taylor knows the places the two would eat and where Tubbs liked to ski.

Alicia Webb described her brother as someone who is loyal, protective and methodical. She said he has a routine for his life.

The Vail Police Department has been extensively searching for Tubbs since Jan. 1 throughout Vail. If you have any information regarding the whereabouts of Tubbs, please contact the Vail Police Department at 970-479-2200.
