InIn February, someone who bought a $100 raffle ticket will win an elegantly-furnished All-Star Miracle Home valued at an estimated $500,000.

The gorgeous two-story brick home, located just off of Creek Valley Road in North Carrollton at 4165 Catawba, is being donated by Meritage Homes, and at least 100 different vendors have donated time, money and materials for the home.

Proceeds from the effort will benefit Children’s Medical Center Dallas, Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth and the Dallas Mavericks Foundation.

“Nearly everybody we meet either has had a child in the hospital or knows someone who has,” said Lisa Doney, vice president of marketing for Meritage Homes in Dallas and Fort Worth. “This is something that really pulls at the heart strings.”

Already, about 2,000 tickets have been sold for $100 each, and the goal is to sell 1010 times that many by February in order to raise $2 million dollars for the charities.

People who tour the home gasp at the beauty of the home itself as well as at the elegant furnishings in it, which have been donated by Ashley Furniture HomeStore.

The 4,000-square-foot home has four fully-furnished bedrooms, one downstairs and three upstairs. The one downstairs has an elegant bed with giant bedposts extending about six feet into the air and capable of supporting a canopy. Upstairs, one bedroom was designed by one of the Dallas Mavericks for a boy or boys and a girl’s bedroom features Mavs Dancers designs. The other upstairs bedroom is an elegant guest room.

Also upstairs is a game room with a pool table designed and donated by ESPN Radio, and a media room with a huge screen and six oversize leather chairs with ottomans.

Outback is a swimming pool provided by Anthony and Sylvan Pools, complete with a Jacuzzi, which can spill warm water down a sleek waterfall into the pool when turned on.

Also downstairs, in addition to the living area, are an elegant dining room and an office, already installed with a large desk and bookshelves with books already on them.

Doney said the effort is a combination of a lot of people and businesses from all over Texas who want to help the hospitals and the Mavericks Foundation.

Kroger, RE/MAX, Guaranty Bank, and of course, the Dallas Mavericks are among the major supporters of the effort, with a list too long to publish of others who have also made significant contributions.

“Many of the vendors, subcontractors and others who are hired by Meritage have donated time, money and materials,” Doney said. The All-Star Miracle Home is part of the Dominion at Indian Creek neighborhood, a Meritage Homes development just west of Creek Valley Road just a few blocks north of Hebron Parkway.

In addition to the home, those who purchase tickets may also be eligible to win other prizes.
